JUSTIN -- Two men were taken by air ambulance to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth after being shot Thursday morning during an apparent theft near Justin, sheriffs officials said.
Dispatchers received a call at 6:05 a.m. that a business owner discovered two men attempting to steal an air conditioning unit from his business, Team Texas High Performance Driving School, in the 9000 block of Industrial Road near Justin, said Sheriffs spokesman Tom Reedy.
The business owner fired two shots from a shotgun, striking both men in the abdomen, said Sgt. Roger Griggs said.
Joseph Vergal Prescott, 53, of Grand Praire is in critical condition while Michael Allen OShea, 55, of Irving is in stable condition, Reedy said.
No charges have been filed against the two injured men or the business owner, and authorities are still investigating.
I find it a good sign that of the 25 comments only 1 knocks the owner... and mainly because of the cost to the taxpayers for these morons medical care... but then Texas IS considered a "red state"... wonder what folks would be commenting if this happened in Chicago?
As to them suing him... I hope like hades they don't... as I doubt they'll be having a sympathetic jury anywhere near here... but also for the owner's sake... one more reason I think there should be something on the books about "The inherent risk of criminal activities"... like there is for equine activities.
