I just went out to check on the feather thing...

He is skinned. I thought he had feather at one point. Is the skinning normal?

My Buttons made me a fresh egg too! In the Bator it went....

It means one of your other birds is probably not being very nice to him -- ripping feathers out. They can also rip the skin off & bloody him up, and injure him worse. Sometimes birds will keep this kind of behavior up until they kill the other bird.

I'll have to let the others here help you out more, though. I don't know much about pheasants.

He might not grow them back until next time he molts. If he had a lot of scar tissue as a result of taking a beating from the other birds then he might never grow them back. Usually birds do, though. I've got a female button quail in much the same condition. She's currently by herself. Added her in with a young male and he loved her...far too much. He was super protective of her, but did a lot of damage too fast.
