Pale comb

Not to take over someone else's thread but I do have one pullet who began laying late summer/early fall who has always had a pale comb. It's not dry and flaky, but smooth and plump like any other healthy, mature chicken. I haven't put much thought to it as she was the first of my 2014 pullets to begin laying and they all stopped when winter hit. She's healthy, active, alert, friendly, etc., just pale. Any ideas as to why that is?

I always check for mites/lice and get a baseline weight when I have one that's pale. Might also be a good idea to have a fecal float to check for parasites done. Any loss of weight could indicate a serious problem.
