Hi,
I have reed several time that paprika is added for a darker egg yolk. Does anyone know if it's true and the feeding ratio to feed? How can it be incorporated in the food?
Thanks

Anything that is rich in carotenoids, specifically xanthophylls, will naturally help to darken the color of the yolks - dark leafy greens (either as a treat or available through free range time) are the key. In winter when greens are not as available, alfalfa can be offered.

paprika, chayane, and chili powders will do it. I do not know ho much required so do it overkill by adding too much which can mean 5% of the diet if you like without ill effects. Just enough to give feed a little color likely enough.
