On Saturday morning found a 3 year old hen on the ground under the roosts. Vaccinated for Mark’s as a chick (at least I paid for Mareks vax). Been hand feeding, cooked egg yolk with Vit.B & water with added Hen Boost. Still no improvement!

Has anyone experienced anything else that causes this? She feels slightly underweight but otherwise healthy!

Thank goodness it was not a virus…but poor girl!
Something new to help others when faced with a paralyzed hen!
I'm sorry about your hen.

Thank you for posting the results of the necropsy findings. Sad indeed, but not something I would be surprised to read for a 3year old hen with those symptoms.
I do hope your thread will help others.

The vaccine doesn't actually prevent the disease so she may have it.

Are you in the United States?

Is she separated from the others? Its my understanding that (although rare) they can still get mareks even with the vaccine. But, usually it shows up before 3 yrs.

Have you introduced any new birds to the flock recently?
Thanks for the thread, pretty depressing read though!
