Partridge Silkies - Nothing else

What do these chickens look like as fresh hatched chicks? Do they have the chipmunk pattern with blue or white undertones? They are gorgeous!

Two generations back when the restrictor & melanizer were still impure (the darkening was already to be seen) the chicks showed still the chipmunk pattern as you can see here :

I'm loving how pretty the gold is coming in around his/her neck. No clue if this is a cockerel or pullet but I'm hoping for a pullet!

Here is my partridge cockerel? along with my black Silkie that I cannot decide which gender he/she is. They are eating bugs off of my plants.

It is possible, it has the red on the shoulders. If it starts crowing, jumps the other ones and the eggs are fertile.. then its a boy. The black one may take the longest to figure out. Just keep watching it.

Just as long as they don't decide to eat your plants. All mine do.

Mine don't touch the plants at all. They just eat the bugs. The Cochins, on the other hand, will eat every shred of the veggies if I let them near anything green. I hope these Silkies keep turning their noses up at greenery.
