I bought and hatched 9 silkie eggs , I was told they were all silkies. A few weeks later come to find out I had a Frizzle... Also I noticed the "partridge silkie" had different feathers than the rest and had normal feathers on the wings and feet. Can someone tell me what this chick is? Smooth silkie, Cochin, Brahma? I'm no expert , just keep chicks as a hobby/pet. So any input is appreciated. Thanks in advance :frow

I'd say either a hatchery quality (but no less adorable :love) Silkie - since it still has black skin, 5 toes, and what could be a walnut comb - or a Silkie mix.

Yes I agree with you :thumbsup im thinking satin silkie or a silkie mix of some sort. I sent pictures to the lady I got the eggs from to see if maybe she could give some insight on what it could be mixed with. But haven't heard back yet :idunno

I think you are right, satin silkie or possibly a silkie mix like Alex said :highfive:

I doubt it’s a mix as not all babies are born with a visible crest. Some babies have vaulted skulls and some don’t. I bet this breeder has different variety’s and the foot feathering is already phenomenal on this chick.
