The breeder got back to me, & they sounded confused about the single comb. They requested pictures, which are sent, just waiting for another reply back.

They can't quite tell the comb type. I offered to post pictures of the chick as it gets older for better comb pictures.

If it is a recessive single comb on this chick, & it is a Malay it's gonna look funky. There are single combed Oriental Gamefowl varieties, but they aren't very common.

Forgot to add, they said one of the hens may have some Shamo in her. So, one possible cross in their bloodlines.

Malay peeps. The partridge ones have really tight held wings, which will help with the project. Sorry it's blurry. Hard to get pictures of zoomy chicks. Modifiers may be a possiblity. What type of modifiers would do that to e+?

But I'm certain it's partridge, but time will tell.

I was thinking maybe with melanizers as well.

An adult Malay is hard to beat, but youth is an advantage on Longs side.

The Shamo outcross should help with vigor, but do you consider the Shamo blood a negative?
