peacock noises!

If you got a neighbor with dogs that are so close their barking bothers you they might get eaten by them dogs when they go to visit your neighbor just sayen

If the dogs won't hurt them then turn them in few months, be aware that they can and will fly off if something gets after them and if they see or hear anything out of the ordinary they will go check it out ,if they ain't scared of it they can and will follow it if you are not there to stop them.
I been free ranging peas sense 2010 they have taught me many, many lessons

First off LOVE your pictures! I really love the pict with the chicks and the dog together! My neighbors arent that close and we have a bunch of other birds so will the peacocks stay around here and roam with the other birds ? And I would clip their feathers so they could not fly for the first year and I got them from Mcmurray hatchery.

thigh can probably get hens the same age if you want, but since males mature for breeding at three and hens can sort of start laying at 2, not the end of the world if you wait for this year's chicks

I agree all my hens start laying by the age of 2 and some lay a few eggs as early as a year if they are from an early hatch the year before. so if you get babies then by time the males have a fill train they will be a pair also keeping multiple male you may think each will get a hen, this may not be the case , you could end up with one male getting all the hens while the others dance around on their tales, like these boys

That's where I got mine last year. I let them out 2 at a time, 2 at a time, etc. They behaved themselves until they all got out, they were about 6 mo old. They then disappeared for about a week! They came back minus one of the males! I don't let them free range anymore! Trust me they will make plenty of noise in their pen!

If I wanted to breed pied peacocks with the one male that looks like he has a little pied in him what kind of female would I want to get to breed with him? And if I let one peacock out and leave the rest in would he stay by the pen?

First you would need to figure out if he is carrying a white gene or a pied gene, this can only be done by breeding him to see what you get. I would recommend a white hen. Pied birds need 1 white gene and 1 pied gene and a white hen will supply the white gene, if your boy has a pied gene you will get pied offspring, if he is carrying a white gene you will get white offspring but no pieds. Either way this would let you know what he is carrying.

Ok thank you! If I my ask, how many peacocks do you have?

Thank you for the kudos, i love taking pictures

Other birds will not keep them around they will roost with other kinds of birds but do their own thing once the day gets started peafowl like change , they are curios about everything like a 3 year old child.

Clipping their wing will only cripple them they will still be able to jump straight up and clear a fence easily but if a wild critter gets after them they will not be able to fly high enough to safety and will get killed.
