If you could set up a trail came on the borders of the property he may yet turn up out wandering. It may just be a case of wanderlust.

Good idea, we had them off due to it being out of season but I’ll tell my husband to turn them back on.

Hello, I’m a fairly new peacock owner. I live on 20 acres with a lot of other farm animals. My peacock is about 12 months old. He’s been locked up in his adult cage for 3 months & did great. I wanted to free range him along with my chickens. about 2 months ago I let him out. He’s done great, up until today. We had a scare about a month ago when he disappeared. I found him up in a tree. He came down the next day. Today when I left for work he was in the yard. When I got home he was no where to be found!!! Help will he come back ? Did I do something wrong? He loves it here. I don’t see why he would run away. Him & my pigs are best friends!! He’s very missed. Any suggestions welcome.

I'm fairly new to owning Peas. They will travel and its not unusual to end up 5 miles away. You have a male who probably wants to meet a gal friend.

Our neighbor 1/4 mile away has 3 and they come here often. They want us to take them when the girls graduate high school next spring. So, that means we'll feed them and they'll end up back over at their house, right? I'm not so sure about this yet either as they've texted us many times asking us to look out for their peacocks because they didn't come home the night before.

Sorry to see that the OP hasn't been on since last July. I do hope all is well and that one day she will be back and tell us so.

So sorry to hear that yours left. Hopefully it will return and if it does I would keep it in a covered run. Others have had theirs disappear never to return even though they were soooooo happy where they were. Birds can be very strange at times. Especially if they are looking for a mate.
