 Java green x Indiablue = 50% spalding.       Javagreen x 50% spalding =  75% spalding.      Javagreen x 75% spalding =  7/8 spalding. These are all hybrids ( a cross between two species.). and cold tolerant. Contrarily, they say Javagreen is not cold tolerant and very flighty, not easy to tame. Java green is javagreen, there is no javagreen spalding. At least, that is what I understand.

Do you all think that the first eggs of the season are usually fertile? Should I get excited about the 1st week of eggs or not? This will be their 2nd year laying eggs. What do you all think?

I found my first pea egg of the year and I am so excited. I did not take the egg. I will wait to see how many more they lay and if either girl will go broody.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but yearling peahens do not lay. Right? I have a trio of peas who should be turning a year old this month.

mine layed last year at 10 and 11 months, they are laying again this year and will not be 2 until august and i got some eggs cooking right now!
