I use the pour on Ivermectin 5% I use about 1/2 - 1 cc for adult birds. I was told this by Deerman. He said even though you are using 1cc only about .25 - .50 is actually going on the bird's skin most gets absorbed in the feathers. Injectable is 1/2cc into a grape (being sure the bird only gets one) or under the skin at the base of neck. That is what I found in my notes. I don't have a 1% solution of Ivermectin, isn't that for small caged birds? I would recommend you getting the pour on for cattle and give the bird a .25 dose of it. It will not hurt her if you do give it to her because Ivermectin has a very large margin of safety. It will stay in her system for about 30 days and the lice will die. Remember the proper dose for the pour on will not be in your book cause it is for cattle.Do any of you use the 1% injectable orally, topically or IM/SC? Or do all of you just use the 5% pour-on?
