Peafowl pair in South Carolina?

They are out of 75% Spaulding Black Shoulder cock that shows no white on him. The grandmother was a Low % BS hen carrying a white gene of some type. They produced four white hens three of which had some spots. The daughter was bred back to the father and produced the male chick above. This year all three hens will be put back with the father and the following year this cock chick will be over all three of the spotted sisters, one of which is his mother. This is also the same pen that produces my Red Buffs.

Can I ask a question that might seem dumb...? How many males do you have per female? Right now I have two males and two females... do I have too many males already?

The good question ... is how many females per male! ... 5/6!
Two male in a place ... danger ... they will fight ... result ... a death ... and it is often the most beautiful!:hit:hit:hit

Multiple cocks in a breeding pen will hurt fertility even if they do not fight. Hens can be fickle, imagine that, and normally pick one cock over another. Some hens will get possessive and interfere with breeding. Sometimes the other cock will knock the first off of the hen. The number of hens to cock will change as the cock ages. A two-year cock may only handle a couple of hens but a four-year-old can easily handle five hens.
