Nice!! Thanks for sharing!! Thank you for taking pictures just for me!!!! :love
Who was the Sulmtaler breeder? That one rooster looks like it's in bad shape!! I don't think I would have brought it to a show! Oh my!!!
So, did you get to talk to a breeder or just got the contact information? Are you buying animals or eggs?
I just ordered 30 eggs from a breeder in Austria. Should get them in March latest April depending on the weather. Unless I feel like driving there... and I just don't think so! LOL

lol you mean his tail feathers, yup looks like he had a rough ride. IDK who the breeder was but the best note, a 94 out of all the Sulmtalers and a Manfred Fischer got that, he lives in Gaggenau. To be fair, there were only 4 guys with that breed even there and a lot of empty cages too. At least I got to see what your chickens look like! I didn't know the hens look so different from the rooster, I was thinking you had two breeds!! :lau

You're not the only one who thought that!! There were two guys at the club who thought I wanted to mix breeds. "That is a different rooster!!!" LOL
That is actually really nice because 2 weeks after hatching you can tell the roosters from the hens. There are other breeds like that... like the faverolles (deutsches Lachshuhn).
It is a very rare breed... there were only 170 for the specialty show.

Wow that's cheap. Have you got that coop all alone for your chickens, or do you share it with other club member's chickens, looks pretty spacious. But not if you are expecting 80 chicks...lol

At the moment I am sharing. But only until the end of the year. As a matter of fact he says he'll be butchering the roosters he's got in there atm. (he still has a small coop in the club (Verein). Officially as of Jan.1 it is mine!!! All mine!!! My precious!!! :drool:celebrate:D:D:D Then I'll have the coop with 4 different compartments to keep breeding groups seperate. 8 runs but only 4 are connected to the coop...so theoretically I got 4 runs 400 square meters alltogether. And I still feel like it's not enough with all those chicks.. :th
Oh and did I mention the ducks and geese I would love to have but can't because I won't have enough space? :barnie

Hahahaha! I am secretly thinking about turning my potting shed into a quail aviary. Its a tug of war between my vegetables and meat birds at the moment. Will have to have a long hard think about it. Quail are at least easy to come by....and very tasty!
