oh. John... I am sorry you are having such a hard time!!! Yes, these times are really ridiculous... I even heard out Lidl is out of eggs. A friend told me there was a car that was broken into because it had toilet paper inside!!!
But keep in mind... the more we stick to those rules the quicker it will be over! Keep you chin up!
I am happy I have my chickens, my eggs and the little chicks. They keep me busy. Maybe you need a little incubator and some hatching eggs...? The kids would love that! Would be educational too!!! Just keep telling the wife it's for educational purposes!!! Just kidding!
Yesterday, I spent 2.5 hours getting the chicks immunized. We had to stay in the car and they were getting the chicks and bringing them back when done.
Did I mention something like the hubby was coming around to the chickens? Hahaha... I asked him if he didn't want to join the breeding club (you don't have to breed just to be a member) but he could keep the chickens if something were to happen to me. And he agreed!! He even said he might take over a coop if it were to come available. Wow!!! Talk about change!! Last year he wasn't too happy when I said I am getting chickens!
Times change!
Here is a picture of my 2.5 week old chicks. There is a chick sitting on the food in the front... it's a little darker... that is a rooster... the rest is hens. Of course there a a few more rooster in the bunch... but I would say 75% hens. No wonder they were so noisy!
