Gosh, well done. They look great, and so practical.

Yeah, they are little eating machines! In high times I fed 100lbs a week just for chicks! That was a lot of feed! And I am wanting to hatch more next year! I must be crazy!!!The chicks are doing great, might need a bigger feeder though... Never had this many at once. I bought the big bag of chicks food, thinking it should be enough...lol I don't think so now. Need to put a second perch in the coop too, the loge seats are all taken, so I need put another one in, so they all have a place to sleep. The youngest three in the coop, will not go in at night, have been putting them in myself. Think they are just terrified of the big ones still. I find them huddled together under the ramp, but it is too cold to stay out a night, silly birds... They haven't been out much in the garden either, which is probably better. Don't want to feed the hawks.
That is so exciting! I am getting closer to what I want my LS to look like. Which means I won't be keeping any of the roosters now. Not for breeding at least. The hen is not breeding quality either, although I love her, so she can stay. . These are the ones from August, and see what I get from the chicks in the brooder, I definitely have some hens in there and a couple of roosters. So looking forward to seeing how they turn out.
I put my breeding groups together today.
4 groups 1,1 1,2 1,4 and 1,4
I really like the way they look. Hopefully it was the right choice.
I am very excited and can't wait until it's breeding season. First ones will hatch March 29th. I was given the immunization dates for the chicks.
It's different this time...my chicks are going to have chicks![]()
