Winter has been mild so far where I live, a fact for which I'm grateful, considering how much have heating prices gone up. The snow already melted, but next weekend heavy snowfall is expected... my flock won't be happy: they hate snow!
I just wanted to share my excitement because this hen, who was born here from one of my broodies last July, started laying these little pale pink eggs, which I find super cute. My other girls started laying regular size eggs, so this is the first time I get to see little eggs. The smaller one (which was the first one) weighs 35 g, while my other hens usually lay 70 g eggs.

We had a mild winter too. And the 2 youngest (1 and 3 years old ) started to lay the first week of January. 
I’m very happy with their small bantam eggs. It means I don’t have to buy eggs from locked up chickens anymore.
The bantam eggs of Katrientje (bantam RIR) are not very tiny. About /almost 40 grams I guess.
Janice’s (mix bantam breed) eggs, are a little bit smaller.

Your birds look great! I usually find bantam birds disproportioned, but yours seem to have an harmonious structure.
This winter I spent almos two months without eggs because of molting of course, but I also had a mice problem in my coop, which it seems to be solved now (I REALLY hope so!).
In the meantime I didn't buy eggs, so now that the ladies started laying again and I can reach the eggs before mice it feels like Easter to me!

Mine are starting to lay... then it gets cold and they quit again. Very annoying when you're trying to collect hatching eggs. I got the light going in the morning... but I also have some young hens which are doing a partial molt. I guess the weather is really messing them up.

I think it's high time I formally introduce myself in this thread! I live in Greece, where in every village you visit, you will find chickens! Although I would say, you won't find much variety in breeds anymore. I myself have been raising chickens for 11 years, mostly for eggs, but also as fun feathered companions! For the past few years, like most of the world, we have been experiencing really odd weather, I'm talking cold (for the standards of a Greek person) in the winter, and HOT in the dummers, so much so that there have been huge fires every single summer, causing people to evacuate their homes, sometimes having to leave their pets and livestock behind. Anyways, after that rather sad part, I would like to tell you my favorite breeds. The breed I love, the breed i would only keep If I had to choose, is the aseel, such a smart and amazing breed! I also love leghorns, they produce a lot of eggs, and they're great free rangers, although I prefer broody breeds. I also like silkies, although I only recently got my first, so I can't expand on that. As for ISA browns, the breeds you'll find most readily available here in Greece nowadays, I have a love-hate relationship. I love their sassy personalities, and their overall openness to humans. I hate the fact that they don't live too long mostly because of their high egg production in the first years of their lives. So much so, that many of mine continue laying even through molting season. Anyways, that was me!
