Love watching JoJo swim, he is more loving and friendly than ever, being in the house has changed him completely!
Wow, all the photos of the boy are so cute. And so is Ryleigh.

So with this new female pekin we are getting today, she's a year old and she's laying. An egg a day. Should I get her oyster shells and layer feed? Also, my mother in law told the dh that the former owner said she eats duck feed and cracked corn. That's all he's ever given her so don't feed her anything else. Jojo eats veggies and mealworms daily. I get him feeder fish every so often. I didn't even know ducks ate cracked corn. I thought that was only for chickens. I want everything ready before we get her so what do I need? Should I stick to her diet that she already has? Jade and miss Lydia help me asap!!!!! Lol :jumpy

Many ducks love cracked corn, but most of ours won't touch the stuff. We only try to feed it in the winter because it's very fattening. It's good in the winter for outdoor ducks since it helps them with body heat.

What is it that you're feeding JoJo as far as his duck feed goes? I can't remember. You might be able to feed her the same thing along with getting her some oyster shell. One thing you might want to do is ask the person you're getting her from if you can have (or buy) a pound of the feed they're using. You could mix that with what you're feeding JoJo so it's not a sudden change. Some ducks will refuse to eat if they have sudden food changes. We give our buyers about a pound of our feed unless they say they're going to use the exact same thing.

As far as JoJo's veggies and mealworms, those are fine for her. She's going to have a nicer diet with you than she does right now. Just don't be surprised if she's suspicious of treats at first. If she's never had them, she might be reluctant to eat them.

YAY!!!
