I I don't think its a pure pekin, but he's beautiful.Hello! I have a Pekin that I hatched that I'm questioning whether it's pure bred or not. I went to a farm in MI, all I saw where pure white geese and Pekin duck, free ranging on a huge farm that is a learning center for children. There are, horse, chickens, ducks and geese oh and a cow and her baby. Lots of people there all the time. Well, I received some eggs from the farm in April. I was told they were Embden geese and Pekin duck eggs. Well, when they hatched, the Embden looked normal, but I ended up with a goose with a black beak and feet(later found out it was from a Chinese/Toulouse pair) the one and only duck, was yellow with black spots. Here is my "Pekin" at 4 weeks...![]()

Here is a video from today...
I doubt it's a drake feather your seeing at that age, now you may be able to tell by picking each up, ducks will quack loudly drake will be raspy quack. And sometimes the drake will still chirp when the duck is already quacking

Today is lockdown for my first batch off pekins. I went to move my second batch to another incubator and noticed a lot of my ducks are already pipping. The humidity dropped of course because I had opened the lid but I got it up for lockdown. Will they be okay? Its at 75%. Before hand it was close to 50% and dropped to 40% while trying to get set up. But I got it all done and raised in about 20mins. Please help I'm worried about them.

Oh that's good to hear. I just couldn't believe they was already pipping. I've hatched quail so I know what u mean about suspense & waiting. It's nerve racking to me. The hardest part for me is making my husband leave them alone. I can usualky curb my enthusiasm by watching through the windows. Should I spray them even with the humidity up?
