Pekin with bumblefoot

I have been treating one of my pekins fr bumblefoot, he has been to a vet for antibiotics and anti-inflammatory but those are done. The scab has healed but his foot is still swollen and he won't put weight on it still. I'm not sure what the next step should be? Is there anything I can put on his leg to help the swelling and inflammation? Wondering if I should get sone if those neoprene booties for him to wear for extra padding? Anybody with advice/input? Thanks

I think you're right.

Could be in the joint or bone . Best to let the vet have another look possibly open it up and get the infection out.

When I dig out the plug from a hen, I sometimes see a lot of puss..not always, but often. This is what comes out, if it's

left in, it is painful to walk on.

I too think that it's infected. As others have said, it should have been cleaned out. I just recently performed a bumblefoot surgery on one of my hens and got this plug out:

It's very painful for them to walk on, so I'd definitely be taking the duck to a vet as soon as you're able to. The sooner you do, the sooner your duck will start to feel better! Best of luck with it!

Ooo..that's a good sized one sniper... guessing that bird is feeling oodles better. Even though they've been cut into, they feel so much better after this is done.
