do Pekins get hot easier/more often? if so, why?

they are heavier so tend to have more issues than smaller breeds. totally worth it though, i love my boy

Yes, they get fatter faster so they will typically run hotter.

They get much larger so they are much more sensitive to temperature. My boys for size comparison. Howard is the pekin and Bells in the khaki campbell.

They were bred to be meat ducks, so they grow a huge amount in a very small window of time, and they wind up being very large fat ducks after they're full grown. When you're that big/growing to get that big you get hot easy.
