Pekins going bow legged

Go to a 'health food' store.
There's not one particularly close to me, but that was going to be my next step.

Not much new to report today unfortunately. I've had them both in the bath the last couple nights, and they've been staying in the sling. I found they had both escaped the slings a couple times today. I suppose their hocks look a bit less swollen, but I don't feel like it's enough to definitely say so.

The bigger of the two is sounding a little different as well. They'll be 3 weeks tomorrow. I'm starting to hear a slight more honk noise coming from him/her (as he/she sits on my shoulder while I write this, honking/peeping in my ear.)

Still planning to do everything I can. Just feeling a little worn out today and was hoping to see them showing more improvement (12 hour days at work drain me)

I don't know anything about ducks but has it been determined if this is a vitamin deficiency or a 'birth' defect?

I can't say for sure that it's not a birth defect. However I'm operating under the impression that it is not since 2 of the pekins are impacted by it. The rest of the campbells seem to be doing fine, however they have not grown at the rapid rate of the pekins.

Another long day at work. I came home and both pekins were still in their harnesses. I decided to put them back in gen pop this evening (the brooder with the campbells) so they have a little time back with the fam. I'll check them in the morning and see how they look, and probably put them back in harnesses for the day.

I almost caught them a night crawler but they dart back underground the moment light hits them :p

Checked on them today and they seem to be showing some improvement.I'll know more tomorrow when they all get their first yard day.

At 4 weeks yesterday, one of the pekins is looking better. Still bowed some, but still able to get around. The other however still seems to be having some issues :(. That would be the same one that grew the biggest the fastest. They'll be heading outside in the next couple weeks full time so we'll see how they go.

I hope all goes well, you are doing all you can! Did u ever get brewers yeast?
Thx. Unfortunately I have not been able to find brewers yeast anywhere. I'm surprised because I feel like I used to see it everywhere. I've stopped into probably 7 stores at this point and no one has any. I've been feeding the good food and have been adding sav a chick electrolyte and probiotics in the morning, and niacin supplement in the evening. I think the one is still just growing so fast his/her legs aren't keeping up. If spooked it can still get away from me (which happens a lot thx to the less than friendly khaki campbells :p) but it definitely stumbles some along the way. The other one is still not standing up as straight, but seems to be a good bit more mobile.

Were you ever able to splint the legs? And the niacin is good. I gave mine crushed up B-complex pills which had niacin and riboflavin, which was great for wee ducklets.
