Hi everyone!
I had a quick question about my mandarins. I have (had) two pairs of unrelated mandarin ducks and just last week, a stray dog got too close to the outside of the pen and one of my poor hens took off straight in the air and hit the bottom of her nesting box. The dog has since been reported and caught, but my question is...where can I find a replacement hen that I can guarantee that she is unrelated, and if/when I do find her, can she be introduced to the remaining three? I want to make sure that they will take to her, because two drakes and a hen is a bad mix come spring.
I have called and emailed a lot of people, but not many seem to know very much about bloodlines.
Any suggestions?
