Thankfully with your help Penelope survived her dog bite. I tried to put her back with the others and they started pecking her so I removed her. Will she ever be accepted back? Why do they allow doves to share their coup and food but not her?

Thankfully with your help Penelope survived her dog bite. I tried to put her back with the others and they started pecking her so I removed her. Will she ever be accepted back? Why do they allow doves to share their coup and food but not her?

You need to reintegrate her slowly. It's best to use the 'look don't touch' approach for about a week then allow them all to intermingle in a very large area, preferably outside the confines of a run. Allow the birds to return to whatever their sleeping arrangements are each night. Eventually, she will rejoin the flock.
