Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

My wee one was sick last week, now the 7yr old soon to be 8 as in on the 12th had her appendix taken out in the wee hours on Monday and than had complications. She is out and with me.

Glad she's with you...send her all our love!

Have a lot more going on than just them sick. It's an ugly situation otherwise I wouldn't be going back ti Williamsport quite as much.

I'm from Jersey...we know how to hide the bodies.

So... How is the best way to get ducks friendly?? I have 4 ducklings ATM that are just starting to feather out.. And I want them to love me unlike my other ducks that only like me when I have feed. -.- Lol.

I'm fairly certain they only love the food, not you. At least that's the way my ducks act.

So glad I use the mill's fresh milled, not prepackaged!

My pekins are skittish, but I got them as adults. My runners are the same. The muscovies I can walk right over & pick up usually but they were younger when I got them & had been well handled. We have babies in the brooder that are handled constantly & the babies we raised last year were pretty calm as well. My call ducks I can usually pick right up as well, but they are in a smaller pen & can't get away as easy. I just don't give my babies a choice. They get used to me whether they want to or not. Plus the kids cart them everywhere.

Chocolate scovies??

My SO just gave the OK to host a swap here at our house if anybody is interested.  We don't have a huge property for camping, but we have plenty of room to set up lots of tables, etc. (This is a good excuse for SO to clean out the barn!!)   We do have ducks and geese and I must protect my flock as well as yours, so eggs and chicks only, no adult birds.  We are about 5 mins from the Lebanon/Lancaster exit of the turnpike (I am on the map in my signature).  Let me know if anybody would be interested.

That'd be awesome, depending on date!

Pretty neat! Depending on dates (my jobs and workshops come first before chickens lol) I'd enjoy going ^^ Not sure what I'd swap lol My Loverman makes awesome art/knives; he's a farrier/blacksmith/jeweler/swordsmith haha. I'll have to start getting crafty so I'll have something to swap ^^

I'm all for anything from your Loverman...those sharp and pointies are gorgeous!

Cubalaya hen with chicks. The little red one without the black stripes is an unusual color for cubalaya chicks.

COOL! don't know that I would have anything to swap except cash and not much of that but it would be fun to meet a lot of others on here plus see the couple I have already met!

I have the BEST CHICKEN FRIENDS EVER!!!!!!! Not only did I meet a few of you in the last few day and you have been SUPER NICE, but I got eggs faster than the speed of light!
My son surprised me when I picked him up from school with " Mom, I signed you up to make cupcakes for the class parent party tomorrow". Me: "OK. How many?". My son: "75". Me:

YES. From what you've posted so far, I don't think there's anything you'll make that's not awesome.

Its some kind of special "tea party" and there will be parents/grandparents, etc. That's why I made those. I made the plain vanilla and plain chocolate for the kiddos. I know mine like all those, but mine will eat anything (even octopus is a favorite.....not cupcakes.....sushi wise). LOL!!! And Thanks You so much for the compliment!!!

My grandkids will try anything once. We took them all out in January and I of course ordered calamari. The 6 yo (who is my "chase me around the table and make me try it so I can say yumm" kiddo, tried it right away...even was ok with it once I told her what it was. The 8 & 10 yo's were all for it. When we did the marriage reception, I had to order for them, as the 8 yo decided he wanted steak, and the 10 yo wanted crabcakes....they got a burger and a single crabcake respectively! LOL
