Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Well, a guy just recieved a variance to continue his selling of all sorts of animals and he has less then an acre and he lives in a double house.. his coops are deplorable... Its bad.. but yet he is allowed :/ My Mom said that when we where "told on" when we had chickens we needed to pay 250 fr a special meeting and have people MANY people come in who like the chickens.. she didnt do it though.. I will for my ducks how ever. I will read that link.

Thanks! I couldn't find this anywhere!
Pretty postivive they are far enough.. the 2nd one will be.. unsure about the 1st.. I will have to go out and measure. If not... we will move it!
You need to check to see what your zoning is. If it's residential then they still aren't allowed. If you are zoned anything else then you're good. You should be able to call the auditor's office & give your address & they can tell you your zoning. You don't even need to tell them why you want to know.

But Silkie is right, you will need a special hearing of the zoning board. If it only costs $250, you are getting off easy. Where I live it is $800ish.

Edit: Your zoning is probably listed on your Township tax bill, which should have come recently since they are generally due March 31.

So far I have 3 of Mama2my4's bantam Orps out and a OE chick. I have 22 more pipped in there! I have had to open the incubator 3x since they started pipping. I had to fill the water pan, put a wet sponge in the bottom because humidity was low and then I had to add a cup of water with paper towels because it was still to low. If I don't have that Sportsman near 70% humidity, the chicks all shrink wrap. I do lose some to drowning, but I'd rather 2 deaths to drowning instead of having to help 6 of 10 chicks out because they are shrink wrapped. Speaking of, I think one hatched to early and it's dead in the back of the hatching tray. I can't see and I am not pulling the tray out until most of the chicks are out.
