LOL!! They are so cute! My son goes...awwww....LOL!!Penta ~ This is WHAT A BROODER that is too small looks like!!! Since I am on light duty (ugg) I need to enlist hubby to make a HUGE brooder out of anything he can find tomorrow!!
Yeah, we have to do the label thing also with our eggs. That shouldn't be a problem. I'm already starting to get people who want them, and my chick-dren haven't even birthed themselves yet..LOL!!! Ugh, all the legal B.S. Gotta love it!when i checked a few years ago I was told I could sell off the property that they were raised on as long as meat was picked up by the person that was going to consume it, i can not carry it off the property to sell it, that is where all the above comes in, there's also a limit to how many I can sell, I think it is 1000, but I don't remember for sure.
as far as eggs, I hear lots of different things, I do sell at a local store, I have to put them in plain cartons with a sticker of my name, address and phone number....
before anyone sells meat you really should check with your local area, I would imagine the whole state is the same but you never know.
A room like that is in the future plans, but I am just not sure if I want to go thru all the inspections and paperwork.
Okay....SOOOOOO.....I'm FINISHED with my brooder!!! I am super stoked as to how it looks (Sally) LOL!! I even made a built in feeder so the little guys and girls don't knock over the food all the time! I am going to do one with the water also, but I don't know what materials to make it with....oh never mind I just figured it out as I was writing my sentence. LOL!!
Ok. Either way...Wanna See it?!?!
TAA DAAHHHH!!!!!

Here is the feeder. The funnel comes out so I can use it for other things. I don't know how I feel about this as I can buy another one at the dollar store...(repurposing the funnel was DH's idea....enough said.

And the far away view. I can't wait to see those little babies in there!! I'll tell you one thing. It's heavy as heck!
Question...Should I have included roosting poles (or whatever they are called...I'm getting a brain fart.) Also I am not going to be able to run electric out to the coop. So should I still keep them in the brooder after 8 weeks??
