Today's eggs, AND if you look in the center of the flower on the right....Ta Dah!! My first Olive Egg!

My wee one was sick last week, now the 7yr old soon to be 8 as in on the 12th had her appendix taken out in the wee hours on Monday and than had complications. She is out and with me.
Praying for her.

Have a lot more going on than just them sick. It's an ugly situation otherwise I wouldn't be going back ti Williamsport quite as much.
I'm from Jersey...we know how to hide the bodies.
We are knowledgable like that. I didn't know where to bury a dog (vet didn't provide that service), and a couple looked at me funny, and said, "I thought you were from New Jersey?" This time it was legal to bury the body. I just didn't have a back yard!

I have the BEST CHICKEN FRIENDS EVER!!!!!!! Not only did I meet a few of you in the last few day and you have been SUPER NICE, but I got eggs faster than the speed of light! My son surprised me when I picked him up from school with " Mom, I signed you up to make cupcakes for the class parent party tomorrow". Me: "OK. How many?". My son: "75". Me:

But SUPER CHAD AND SUPER HEATHER came to my rescue with eggs!!!! LOTS OF EGGS! Glad to say I am almost done! Have another dozen and a half to cool and do icing, then I am done! Pistachio, Coconut Cream, Mint chocolate, Plain Vanilla, and Plain chocolate. THANKS GUYS!!!
Your Welcome!!! I only had 27 dozen ;)

Yesterday I went a 90+ mile ccccccold MC ride, then jumped in the car to get supplies for a run. They had seven of the connectors I needed. I went to six hardware stores, and no one had them. I will just have to make do. I also bought a net for the top of the run. I see that others were talking about them. I hope it works as well as you all say!
I moved the chicks out to the back sun room about a week ago due to stench (I had just changed the litter again. It was time!) and tonight I moved them outside to the ... Well, quarantine "area".
The brooder was placed on the bottom landing with the heat lamp above it, and all but the feather footed bantam began flying around. The Cochin (I will assume for now) I put in the brooder to make her feel more secure. She kept trying to fly out, but couldn't make it. A few hours later everyone was on the center landing, perching towards the edge, figuring out positions. I assume they are warm enough since they are not too close to the lamp. I am also thinking that I someone managed to get two pullet bantams.

Now I have to make 100% sure DH follows through with a new coop for my birthday.
If not, I found a place with "rent to own" coops and sheds. Pricey, but I will make him see my way... I hope.

Anyone else (not!) looking forward to cleaning multiple coops over the next week as the weather warms up?

Fisherlady,
i can't remember what you told me that you use in the bins for the meal worms.... Hoping to get them started ASAP how long did it take for them to start multiplying? Thanks!!

thats a really long list...
Yeah.. I wish feed was more trusted >.<
My pekins are skittish, but I got them as adults. My runners are the same. The muscovies I can walk right over & pick up usually but they were younger when I got them & had been well handled. We have babies in the brooder that are handled constantly & the babies we raised last year were pretty calm as well. My call ducks I can usually pick right up as well, but they are in a smaller pen & can't get away as easy. I just don't give my babies a choice. They get used to me whether they want to or not. Plus the kids cart them everywhere.
My one scovie LOVES me.. She was superly handled by the person before me who owned her. She will yack at you until she gets petted so her name is yacky!
My SO just gave the OK to host a swap here at our house if anybody is interested. We don't have a huge property for camping, but we have plenty of room to set up lots of tables, etc. (This is a good excuse for SO to clean out the barn!!) We do have ducks and geese and I must protect my flock as well as yours, so eggs and chicks only, no adult birds. We are about 5 mins from the Lebanon/Lancaster exit of the turnpike (I am on the map in my signature). Let me know if anybody would be interested.
Let me know when swaps happen!! I may not have much to swap but I would love to meet people!!!
