Added. GRAR!!! I just lost one of my ducklings to wry neck. I'd been giving her vitamins and she seemed to be doing well....brought them up for their mom time today...and she seemed to have a seizure...so I hade her laying on my chest...when I noticed her head going more and more down to the side...had her die in my hands. So now Frenchy is sitting on my laptop watching me type...I worry how she'll handle being alone in the brooder tonight!

Hi everyone....

Wry-neck is when they can't hold up their head, it lays over to the side...they spin, mine was having seizures and flipping all over the place. It's either genetic, or nutrition based (lack of vitamins, specifically E). I got my ducklings at the MD swap. The other shows absolutely no signs of distress. They've been being fed the same non-medicated chick feed. I was giving Rizzo Poly-vi-sol ever since the first episode.

okay, wow. That is awful, they are from the same hatch and have the same parents?... Does this happen to chicks too? Is the Poly-stuff you are giving them electrolytes? Thank you for letting me pick your brain...for lack of better words

I can't tell him that, but I did want them before I wanted him. That counts right?
I'm on season 2 episode 1 of the hoarding show and it's chickens!!! Darn it!!! LMAO

ETA: They had Rob Ludlow on this episode! Gavin looked at the screen and goes, "Look Mom BackYard Chickens!" Nope he's "never" reading what I post or where I'm on LOL.
ABSOLUTELY! You can always tell him that too.

Plus (if he really gets on your nerves) tell him you want them MORE than you want him.

Quote: Those look to be chocolate to me Missy. I just hatched a bunch, but it was a black pied trio throwing them. Apparently they are all carrying the chocolate genes.
