Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

I went to my TSC just to peek at the fluffy butts lol. They had some ducks, buff orpingtons, cornish crosses and silver laced wyandottes. They had a tub of americanas but it was empty. I miss having a green egg layer. :(

ok, let me have it Ray,,, what breeds does our local TSC have,,,I am avoiding that place....We will be replacing some of the older production birds this year, but I want to wait a couple weeks yet...

I miss the two we sold also... I let them go as part of a trio because even though they laid a nice color egg they were Banty sized hens and we want larger birds... so I couldn't even use their eggs to hatch because I didn't want the small genetics. I will have to get ahold of MButerbaugh to see if she still has her Easter eggers so I can buy some eggs off of her for my next broody to get some LF blue or green layers back in the mix.

Can someone help me please!!! I am stumped and very upset. The past 2 days ive lost 3 hens all the same way. Both mornings I have walked into the chicken coop and found my henss dead. Their vent was freakishly wide open and all their insides are gone. Their heads are still intact but there is no sign of
struggle or anything . Any insight or help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm still crying over your loss. How sad! :hit

York County. Hello all!
HOWDY! I'm also in Southern York County! ^^

The West York Agway just got in a bunch of pullet chicks. Buff Orpingtons, Black Australorps, Barred Plymouth Rocks, Rhode Island Reds, Easter Eggers and Red Sex links.

They have ads posted on the York Craigs List for each breed. http://york.craigslist.org/grd/4337775204.html

They get their chicks from Mt. Healthy. I got about 25 from them last spring and they were all pullets. They get different breeds each week and will special order for you. They don't have minimum amounts like TSC.

augh. MUST RESIST
Anyone near York have any hatching eggs for the Easter hatch along that I can have or buy?

I only have the backyard mixes cuz my speckled sussex seem to still be on strike. the buggers. lol I have a little month old ss roo that needs a home though lol
*sighs* I'm so glad that there are others with voices too!

I went into TSC today for mealworms and 6 bales of shavings. I did NOT get any chicks. Or ducks. I will stay strong. ;)
*links arms* We can do it! right? RIGHT?!

Lol what breeds are in your barnyard mix? Do you get colorful eggs? My ss are not laying much either course, I am getting worried they are getting a little old now. They are five years old...
