I free range my chickens but have a coop to lock them up at night for safety. I have half of the flock that insist on roosting in the barn. This is a real problem due to a predator that has decimated the flock. I rented a trap but had no success. I've had to move them off the barn supports they have made into perches with a broomstick. I then carry them to the coop. It's really difficult to lift them down and try to catch them, but necessary.4
I've thought of using a nail gun to put nails in the boards, but it's a lot of work, and there are a lot of boards.
BTW, the coop is hot and the barn is a bit cooler with our hot weather.
Any ideas?
Thank you!
