Down here in the marsh around August the small yellow flies (we call them deer flies) but they are technically "yellow flies" get so bad it's like swarms attack you. Man the bite is soo bad. All swelled for days with fever in it. Oh it's so terrible. They leave a bigger bite for longer than the big horse flies that I also can't stand.
can you use a repellent on them like for skeeters? AZ has angry insects that will try to murder you for kicks (looking a you, tarantula hawk), but then just black flies and skeeters, so we miss out on a lot of the annoying ones.
I can't use any type of off type stuff my throat tries to swell shut and I get nauseous I used skin so soft when I used to duck hunt for mosquito but it really didn't work well

It's not too bad cause when they're out I don't want to be anyway lol. Mosquito get pretty bad too. Teal season opens in August here and I don't go too hot. In a boat you can pass a clump of marsh grass and literally hear the Mosquitoes buzzing in it. Why in the world would I want to sit in a duck blind in that sweating my butt off not for meThat sounds terrible.
