Pet Peeves

OK I have three pet peeves:

1. Hearing people say "oh it's just a chicken, it's not important if it dies or not"
2. Anthropomorphising animals, but especially dogs. Like, no lady your chihuahua is not your 10 month old child, stop dressing it up and carrying it around in a stroller
3. People who say pineapple belongs on pizza but have never eaten a pizza with a crust thinner than my winter coat. And no I'm not necessarily saying pineapple doesn't belong on pizza, I'm just saying that you have no say in this matter if you haven't tried a pizza with a normal crust
I will agree with 1 & 2.

Riding responsibly saves lives.
Riding responsibly does not prevent stupid people from not seeing you and merging over into your lane. I've seen that happen more than once to riders who were lucky they had room to dodge.

Note: I'm not a huge fan of loud exhaust on anything, but I do understand the mindset with bikes. ANything to make your presence better known to ignorant car drivers.

"Loud pipes save lives"
High visibility clothing, loud pipes, wearing proper protective apparel, it all adds to the safety, because if they can't see or hear you, they will run into you, & most times it's fatal for the people on the motorcycles. The guttural roar of loud pipes may sound cool or annoying, depending on who's within listening distance, but the primary reason for loud pipe is safety & to make your presence known. It is mind boggling just how many people are driving at any given moment...half asleep at the wheel, drunk or on drugs, playing with cell phones or radios, spilling hot coffee or applying makeup. Next time you hear those loud pipes say a little prayer for that motorcycle rider's safety. ❤️ It's most likely someone on their way to work, trying to support a family & budget for food, driving the most economical vehicle in these times of outrageous gas prices.

Can I do the opposite of a prayer for the ones on crotch rockets riding recklessly?

Well...cut the "dog is my kid" lady a little slack, maybe she was unable to have children or her child was killed. We never know the reasons people do things, they might seem silly, they very well may silly people, or they might be someone struggling through grief. Ya never know.
