Petting Zoo.. Need a little help.

Goats are okay, just get the little ones-Nigers or Kinders so that if they do jump up they can't knock anyone down. How 'bout some of those cool mini-cows, like mini-jerseys? They are so cute! I've seen some mini-zebu that are just adorable too....oh, and a guy here has zonkeys (zebra donkey crosses)! There ARE some friendly geese out there. Anything kids can feed is a good pick.

Ducks are cool, but not many of them like to be held. If you raise them from babies then maybe. Of course, if you put a kiddie pool out there then kids will just get a kick out of watching the ducks splash. That's the highlight of our day, watching the ducks play in the pool.

Ponies are okay but so many of them are just plain mean.

How about a docile calf?

Pygmy goats are much easier to handle than the full-sized.

mini donkies can be expensive. some run about $1000.00 give or take a few bucks. i saw one today on craiglist, bred for $1950.00 but you can find them for less also. maybe someone needs to rehome one.
there is a person on here that has a petting zoo, we bought some ducks from him, then i saw him on here. my mother has four minis she would like to get rid off and would love to go his petting zoo where they will be loved. she offered a great deal on them but it was getting cold and not many people get extras for the winter.

Hey, you need to just jump in the truck and come here! There's a guy who's closing down his petting zoo (the guy with the zonkies). You can pick up all his little donkeys and zonkies and zebu and whatever else weird and strange the man has and then you can run up here and I'll load my HUGE percheron gelding in your truck and off you go!!!!

the1much- it depends on the goat... I have one very nice one and one..well, not so nice one...i would suggest a doe and not a wether/buck...

as an owner and educator/advocate for llamas, I am begging you NOT to get llamas for a petting zoo. For many reason, but the maine one is they do not like to be touched (for the most part) and they learn bad spitting behviors if they are stressed out. If you would like more info, pm me. I always love to talk llamas!
