Hi everyone!

I'm building a pheasant enclosure and am wondering what everybody uses as roofing material, and what predator proofing measures you have taken!

I'm in the UK so there aren't as many predators as there are in places like the US but I'm definitely not taking any chances.

I will be burying a 5 x 6m square of hardware mesh 12 inches beneath my 3 x 4m enclosure. This will leave a 1m skirt around the entire perimeter to deter predators from digging.

The enclosure comes with a roll of PVC coated mesh which I know for sure won't be strong enough. So I plan on using that on the sides, and reinforcing it with galvanised steel mesh on the outside.

The only thing left to think about is roofing. I've heard netting is best, as when startled, pheasants will fly upwards and I don't want any injuries! I have found some heavy duty knotted netting, would this work? I then have a waterproof roof covering that came with the enclosure, this covers half of the roof.

Ideas and opinions please! What are your pheasant enclosures like? :)

Here's a couple of mine.
