Kind of perplexed...I know they're supposed to love greens, but so far mine won't eat them. I've offered romaine lettuce, green leaf lettuce, broccoli leaves, turnip greens, beet greens, carrot tops...They're just not interested! The do eat the grass from their yard, but won't touch greens I offer them. They prefer fruits, breads, seeds, cereals, yogurt, etc. What gives? Should I keep trying, or not bother?! Should I stop giving other "treats" until they eat the greens?

Thank in advance!

Mine wouldn't eat anything green until they were about six to eight weeks - now they go crazy over ANYTHING other than chicken feed......cabbage, canaloupe, corn, leftover salad, anything green

Mine are grown up girls now and they still look at me like I've lost my marbles if I bring them leafy greens. The only greens they seem to want is what they can find in their pasture. Go figure.

Mine won't eat greens. They free range all day and get plenty of greens. They only want fruit, veggies and grains from me.

Our 4 BR's do not free range, but are in a run, with aviary attached, so-to-speak.

We give them all kinds of greens in their run, but they really go crazy for the Sunchoke (Jerusalem Artichoke) leaves that we have coming up, next to their run. We just snip some off and tear them up and they just LOVE them. We've also read that these leaves have about a 28% protein content, so very good for them too.

They also will toss and tear around broccoli stalks, cut in half....we give them grass clippings too, and they love it all.

Go figger...they all do have their distinct "likes and dislikes"..or what?

Mine won't either. Tried broccoli, cabbage and spinach. Ended up having to clean up nasty wilted broccoli, cabbage and spinach. Then I gave up on the greens...I say...
LET THEM EAT GRASS!
