Awww, Bleenie, what a cutie! Ducklings are the best!

My duckling uses a stuffed deer as her best friend. I didn't think she was really attached to the particular stuffed animal until I switched it out with a blue hippo so I could wash it. Oh, the crying. We were lost without our deer. (She's currently sleeping wtih it right now with her head on top of it's head.)

ohh, poor baby! It's funny, but you wouldn't think a critter would get so attatched to a toy. Goes to show you that WE ALL need someone or something to love on & feel safe.​

Speaking of stuffed animal buddies - I had a stuffed rabbit in the aquarium when i brooded my last big hatch for the first three days, and the bunny actually saved my ducklings life! And our house! The heat lamp fell from the top of the hutch and fell into the aquarium - right ontop of the bunny head. we smelt somethign burning and walked into my room . The rabbit was burned, the eye melted, and I cried thinking that there might have been a duckling under the lamp - will never make that mistake again.
