In fact, All this disclosure and promoting of your project came about when the Import thread went off with a bang over the possibility of getting many varieties including lavenders shipped in.

Another fact, there are other ORP lavender projects in the works in the US, not just this one. And don't forget you can always import Lavenders or eggs, Already set in type and established.

Jody & Charlie thank you so much for showing us pictures of your beautiful birds !!!! I am really interested in the project and it is great to be able to fallow you guys as you go through with it.

I believe not posting the hens pictures is fine and that they must be beautiful for you to choose them as mates for Lester and to produce babies like the ones I have seen and you are right it they are not yours why compromise such a great breeding lone?

Keep up the GREAT work ! and Please keep us updated !

Oh and Dilly it is HER project and HER decision you saw the head shot obviously the hens exist how would the chicks exist of they didn't?

I never said that either..so not sure what you mean. The only negativity is coming from you.

No it didn't. If you know anything about us or this project, you would know this came about long before the import topic ever came up these past couple weeks. We started posting about Lester in Dec 2007.

IN fact, people there are more lavender projects in the works in the US than just this one. And don't forget a couple hundred bucks and you can import Lavenders, Already set in type.

Really? Why don't you share their names.

One thing with this project is, it is going to open new doors for many large breeds to have the lavender gene added to them besides our Orpingtons.

Jody, I have only asked valid questions about breedng programs. If you choose not to answer fine. No problem. Nothing negative on this end. In fact I was trying to lighten things up with the equal mommy camera time. Why should the dad always get the spotlight. NO biggie.


Yes, you have shared Lester with the group. No question about it. But, The new sig line, the pics, the hoop la, came about when the import thread started. Sorry it did..

Now for those others with Lav projects, it is THEIR business if they choose to post about it. One in fact is on this forum. The other I am not sure.
They have even shared information together, freely and openly.

Now the ability to already import Lavenders, is INDEED a reality. As they say JUST DO IT....

Edited to say: If and or when one or more of these breeders decide to publicly post about it, I will take an interest and ask valid questions. When one posts on the internet on a public forum, you are no longer in control of the secret. I will even ask to see pics of the foundation stock used to make up this new line. Most educated fanciers of a breed will ask the tough questions and not settle for what tidbits are bantered about to promote a project.
