I'm going with Tetra Tints for now... They were in the "Pullet" bin, but the breed underlined on the tag was Golden Comet. I managed to snag one associate and asked him if it was more likely that the sex or breed classification was correct, since they obviously weren't Comet pullets. He said they were definitely sexed right, so I stepped out on faith.
I stopped the guy so he would get chicks for me, but he told me to just open the gate and get whatever ones I wanted. That was new and strange and also undignified, as I bent double over the tubs with my butt stuck up in the air while I tried to corner chicks.
They were worth it, though, and whatever they are, they sure are perfect-looking chicks.
