I wonder why. I had PLENTY of humidity and great temps. Hmmmm makes me wonder about the others.....

Glad you got your baby out and she is safe.

I am up all night tonight with eggs....today and tomorrow are gonna be crazy. My 29 year old stepson is gonna hold down the fort for me while I am in Nashville. I really don't want to be away from all these new babies. Do you have more you are waiting on?

In the morning I wanna take a pic for you. I have a silkie that at first glance I thought was just a regular partridge. But today I can tell she has two white stripes down her back like a skunk. When she was born, she sparkled. So odd. I'll see if I can sneak in there. BRB

Congrats everyone....they are all sooooo cute....Go lockdown on mine new years eve......Can't wait to see my babies. This is our first hatching ever.....Looks like we got 6 out of the seven we started that might make it.

They were mostly shipped eggs, so I will give them one more day. There are a lot still in there, but I never expect shipped eggs to hatch. I am always thrilled if any do. Now I need to lock down NYD eggs!:) Deb

How awesome!!!! I just love him!!! I have 4 chicks now that look like that. Just the one has stripes. Can't wait till the get bigger. My silkies chicks come out almost as large as my RIRs. They look like giants compared to newborn saramas.

When you lockdown multiple hatches in the same Bator( meaning hatching on different days) you need to resist the urge to remove your chicks as they hatch.
Try to wait and remove them say one time a day. The humidity will drop greatly everytime you open the bator.
This can increase the chance of shrink wrapped chicks.
The chicks can actually stay in the bator for At least 24 hour with no I'll effect.
They will kick the unhatched eggs around but this has never caused a problem that I can tell.
We set 8 eggs on the 24th and have been adding 2 a day since then. This will be the first time that we have done a continual type incubation. I have three bators and plan to use one for incubation and two for lockdown. The two lockdown will only have two consecutive days worth of eggs each. This If it works out right should allow them to hatch over a 24 hour period and be done as the ones in the second lockdown bator begin to hatch. Then remove chicks and clean first lockdown bator for next group .Rotating bators so to speak.
