Thanks i'm really proud since my 9 yr old helped with a lot of it. She drove screws, hammered nails and even cut some of the tin with some tin scissors. She's really strong for a 9 year old! She didn't go in the house at all until we finished. We threw this together in one afternoon so our chickens could stay warm.

I certainly didn't mean to imply in my earlier post that I don't love it. I really do love it. I'm all for recycled materials and getting the kids involved. That's what it's all about in my opinion!

I didn't take it that way at all!! LOL I had a lot of fun building it and having even more fun now sharing it!! What's not to love? Free- A place to hang more junk laying around etc. etc. Something to throw in here on chicken chat LOL And the chickens seem pretty content too. Just can't let them see some of the houses the city chickens have on here. They might get Uppity!!

Ooops, I messed up bigtime, I took the location from the post below your coop pic and assumed you were in MA. Sorry about that, I think my eyeballs are crossed due to fighting off the flu. I still say this coop is beautiful and unique and there is no way your chickens could ever mistake someone else's coop for theirs!

Mine was mostly put together with the offereings in the scrap bins at the local hardware stores. All free. I bought very little then let my imagination fly.

Oh no- This is strictly a Hillbilly Chicken haven- LOL Hope your able to fight off the flu too- I'm battling a chest cold - can't seem to shake it . And I was thinking that nobody would dare steal chickens from my coop- It looks too much like "The hills have eyes" movie

Wayne - I LOVE it. That's the pic you posted on my coop thread.

Great description of how you put it together and how you grew up. I've only driven thru TN once and what a ride! Hilly all the way to Mississippi, beautiful area.

What kind of greens do you grow for your chooks? Do you have a pic of them too? I would love to see them.

I've got kale, Turnip, Mustard, Rape and collards planted. What little grows during the winter I feed to them and then in warmer weather - I eat em!! Sorry don't have a pic- They look kind of pitiful right at the moment. ( the greens that is) My chooks look fine but don't have any pics right now. The last pictures I took I put on my Yahoo group. It is under the website thing on the left here. But don't know if it will let you look at the pics without joining our group.

What part of Tennessee did you go through? East and Middle Tennessee are more hilly - Here in West Tennessee the land is a little flatter. Some of the mountainous parts of Tennessee are beautiful!! Right here where I'm at is pretty flat- In fact this area is surrounded by swamp and is low. Would love to have a hill or two here.

I've really had fun with this coop!! When the weather warms may add more "decorations" !! Or like somebody else said "Lucky charms"
