They can live outside with no heat lamp at 4 weeks? My chicks are 3 weeks and I want to get them outside as soon as possible.Babies moved out to the brooder today. They were born Friday and Saturday. Cute little buggers. Do they look like Black Australorp to you?
So when they moved in, someone had to move out. My other chicks (I checked, they just turned 4weeks today) moved out to the tractor. It was a little dim out, so they were sleeping.
Well, most everybody was. The tummy rules, I guess.
Speaking of rules, this guy is a rule breaker! No standing in the food!!

Ohhh. I hope it warms up that much soon. It's like 60-70 degrees in the daytime here.I have a lamp for them at night, for the next week or so. But its going to start being 70 at night, 90 in the day.
My chicks are inside the house and the temp inside is about 70 degrees and I'm wondering if it'd be OK to turn off the heat lamp at night. It was 80+ here today. Supposed to hit 90 by the weekend. It was nearly frigid this weekend, though. I had to turn the heat on Saturday morning. The chicks are interesting. I have one chick that is about 2 weeks ahead of the others. It will get in the middle and spread out its wings over the others, like a mother hen. Kind of endearing.
