Pictures of your Chicks Playing

I will get the new babies on tomorrow. I put the older chicks in the tractor today. I had 2" chicken wire on it, and that was too big. Some of them squeezed through the opening, so I added some 1" around the bottom about a foot up. Cleaned out the brooder and sprayed it with clorox. I'm letting it dry out and tomorrow will add new shavings and the 8 Black Australorp chicks. I REALLY want to buy some Buff Orpington chicks from Meyer. I will have to wait til some of my stuff sells on Ebay. LOL. I have 18 more eggs to put in tomorrow as well.

Babies moved out to the brooder today. They were born Friday and Saturday. Cute little buggers. Do they look like Black Australorp to you?

So when they moved in, someone had to move out. My other chicks (I checked, they just turned 4weeks today) moved out to the tractor. It was a little dim out, so they were sleeping.

Well, most everybody was. The tummy rules, I guess.

Speaking of rules, this guy is a rule breaker! No standing in the food!!

They can live outside with no heat lamp at 4 weeks? My chicks are 3 weeks and I want to get them outside as soon as possible.

It was 80+ here today. Supposed to hit 90 by the weekend. It was nearly frigid this weekend, though. I had to turn the heat on Saturday morning. The chicks are interesting. I have one chick that is about 2 weeks ahead of the others. It will get in the middle and spread out its wings over the others, like a mother hen. Kind of endearing.

My chicks are inside the house and the temp inside is about 70 degrees and I'm wondering if it'd be OK to turn off the heat lamp at night.
I forgot and left the heat lamp off one night. I want to turn it off because I have a a clear bulb instead of a red one.

I am not sure what they are. The daddy was identified as black Australorp, and 2 of the mamas were too. However, two mamas are still unknown. Maybe they will just be mutts. I hope they don't look like the unknowns, they look like buzzards. The one in the dish and its friend are Goloden Buffs from Meyers. I got them and a few Rhode island Reds. There is also one lone Barred Rock I hatched from my previous chickens. I hope it is a pullet. I think it is, but I am no sexing expert.
