Well...my turkeys just point their babies toward the feed bowl. And of course dad is nowhere to be found.

I hear nothing but good about how fun and friendly turkeys are with humans! Wish I had a pet turkey but I know my limits!

They can make great pets. I certainly enjoy mine. They are spoiled tho....

Couldn't get a decent pic because Dad was biting the hell out of my hand (its to the right of the egg) but we have at least one hatched successfully and the other which I thought was a dud is shaking quite a bit

They will hop in your lap, settle down & take a nap.

how fun! But... Pigeon claws hurt enough when they land on me. I can't imagine a turkey hopping on!

Had no idea the babies can eat so much. Wow.

yep! But only because they are growing in feathers, and weight. Lots of food and protein needed for that!

Ok, one question.











Why didn’t an tell me how fast these things grow?! I swear it’s like twice the size it was yesterday! Other baby is on the way!

haha! That's funny. They double in weight in the first 24 hours. Do you plan on banding the squab? If so, do it on day 7.

it's a gonna be close, this might be on page 1000, or 1001. But either way, I do believe this is the biggest pigeon thread in BYC history! Great job everyone!

p.s. I have lots of babies hatching any time now. I had 3 pairs, plus another trio start nests at almost the same time. So far, I’ve seen one half-shell, so I know at least one had hatched. Maybe I’ll be able to get some pics this evening.

I just took a few photos. Please excuse the mounds of poop. It’s been raining so much the past couple of weeks, I’ve have more tending to do in the chicken pens, and haven’t gotten to clean the pigeon loft.
