Pigeon Talk

I thought I saw nest bowls inside. Maybe not.
My nest boxes don't have doors or fronts. I think it's just up to the fancier if they feel they want nest boxes with closeable doors. They may want to keep pairs confined until they have settled to the box or until the clutch is laid to be sure of parentage or to keep a pair from being harrassed by a cockbird trying to claim the box... If you make them for sale I'd go with doors.

Good points. I hadn't thought about the other cock birds, etc.
The fella I got these latest birds from had a couple good sized lofts, with nest boxes on two walls. I noticed a pair with babies way up high, on top of the main structure. Wide open for the babies to fall. So my mind kept going the direction of the babies. But the other things make sense too.

Bugsy flew a bit yesterday. She's getting some air!

When I bought my first five the fella had a full on race loft. He had a widowhood system on one side and the doors on the boxes were all coloured plastic that were removable, each pigeon knew its colour and if he moved the fronts they would always go to where it was! On the other side he had the same square widowhood system but with all the fronts removed. It looked like an IKEA shelving system! The paired pigeons perched and nested in them but as they weren't his breeders he just replaced the eggs with false ones. He offered to sell me the whole setup but it was far too big for my loft it wouldn't have been much use. I wish I had now and just stored it.

The same as this but three wide X2!

That's a nice sanitary feeder. I have a similar one bought online for too much money. lol With 18 birds it's a bit tight so I also put out a second food station, just a flat tray - so there's no arguments at the feeder.

I caught the first view of this new video and commented - don't tell anybody my real name!:lau
I laughed out loud.
