Pigeon Talk

Yes I'll probably put a box in there anyway. I just don't want him to get frustrated and beat up on the only good hen left, especially since I'm not sure if she's even old enough to breed. She doesn't really run from him but she also doesn't allow him to mate with her. Like I said though I did see him feed her. He's already been terrorizing the other cock.
I've been aiming for three feedings a day with the most in the morning and least at night. I put a wooden block in there for her to sleep on since I'm pretty confident she won't fall off it now.
Sounds good for the injured hen. Maybe you do need to get some squeakers, although they might not breed for you til fall.

I might actually try to borrow a hen from the guy I got my squeakers from last fall because he has several hundred homers. That way I wouldn't have to keep her prisoner because I could return her after the season and I could get some new blood in the loft without having to buy a whole new group of squeakers. We'll see.
Even if the hen does recover completely I won't plan on breeding her at all this year.

It was 90 here the other day. Miserable when out followed cold weather.

Bad weather today and yesterday means I was going through old pictures. Didn't do much outside. Spent most of my day waiting on my truck.... Oil,tires, the whole she bang. $$$$ :he:he:barnie

All this driving is catching up with my poor truck.

Mexican Eagle: Crested Cara cara. She was chasing off another.

My whole body hurts...but my pigeons are happy!
Had to take advantage of the beautiful day today, so I moved the chickens that were next to the pigeons to a temporary pen, until the customer comes to get them. Then I took down the netting and wire that was between the two pens (why did I use so many staples putting it up to begin with?!?!), moved a couple roosts, cut the front off the chicken coop, added a landing board for the pigeons to get into the coop, moved the water and feed to a better arrangement. All this while the wind was howling, and looking like rain any time. But the rain held off and the pigeons are enjoying their double space. :ya

Of course they had to fight over the top roosts again. :gig

I thought I took some pics, but I guess just one. Both of these 2 doors now go into the same pen. Check out the one I caught in flight. :D
I’ll get some better ones tomorrow. It was getting dark when I came inside.

@WVduckchick my fibromyalgia doesn't let me do that much without taking three days off couch afterword.

Oh goodness! You have little helpers though, right?
My husband will do stuff for me, but he always tries to do it differently than I want, so I just do it myself. :D
