Pigeon Talk

My little helpers are only part time helpers.

My nephews are here every holiday and school vacation. My oldest nephew wants to live with me. I had a big part in his upbringing.

My other two boys are my step kids. Every other weekend but they’re not farm kids.

My newborn is the only one with me full time and my husbands a traveling welder so he’s not home every day.

BUT I don’t let it limit me. I do as much as I can on my good days. I have to get up and get moving every day because we have a working farm.

I had a day job running a multimillion dollar store until last year. I got too bad. Couldn’t keep up anymore. I’m not even 30 and I have days where I can’t get out of bed.

Ah well. That’s ok.

My pigeons threw out all of the bedding material I gave them. I haven’t seen much mating dancing going on with all of this crazy weather. When my nephews get here I’m going to have one of them crawl in the back of the loft (it’s deep but not tall) that they’re in right now and clean out the nest boxes and try some new material. I’m going to put sand in the bottom of the boxes and give them a fresh pile of material to dig through. More hay, pine needles (in east Texas I have more than I care for) straw and twigs. They’ll find something they like.

A newborn has to keep you hopping! :D
I have 2 grandchildren with 2 more on the way in less than 6 weeks!
