Pigeon Talk

One thing I'd say now about loft design is knowing what you want to do with them. I bought and rebuild my loft as something quick and temporary but it turned a little more permanent. Next year I need to have a radical overhaul of it. For racing I need different areas or sections to keep certain birds apart to use there instincts to get them to return fast. The way I want to do it is by pairing two females to one male! The loft I have now is perfect for just loft flying or rollers and fancy pigeons but not great for racing. It would be perfect for Archangels!
At this point, im only lookin to loft fly and maybe train them to "crate" fly.. (cant remember what the correct term is  )
And I "plan" to control breeding heavily.. but you all know how that goes...:lau

Plastic eggs are a must then! And @biophiliac knows how to do a nice fry up with the excess eggs! Even if it is for the dog! :D

Those are at the top of my loft accessories list..:lau
I'll deffinetly be using the eggs in my cooking.. They are the perfect size fried egg for the grands, who love fried eggs....;)

I think crate flying is having a 'kit box' like that fella does. That would be cool to go and do a display somewhere!
Thanks for the correct term! :D
Thats what Im thinking. My mom has a large open field in front of their house that would be a perfect place to kit fly. And all my nieces and nephews would enjoy seeing them fly as well..

I was thinking PITA. Because of her awkwardness of entering the loft. She plays me. She the only one that does! But now she's paired i'll not let lucky out with her, she be like a bullet returning!

Natasha! :lau

(So sorry mama1 hasn’t returned)

Speaking of intimate displays, yesterday after I took the rollers to the office for a stretch, I was carrying them back to the cage in a small critter carrier, and he started trying to mate her! I sat the carrier down to give him a few minutes. I admit I was watching too. :p
She wasn’t being very cooperative though, I don’t think he was successful.
