Pigeon Talk

Thought I'd do a midweek toss. Let them go from my usual place, they went straight up turned and were gone. I jumped in the car, they were waiting for me when I got home!

This is how long it took me to get back! I think I'm going to start going a little further now! They should beat me back everytime! I may invest in an ETS timer.
Wow! Great toss! :highfive:
:lau Pretty good, and she's not even a racer. A number of mine can walk faster than me...:th
You should see me chasing down ducks..:lau
I checked Bugsy’s eggs tonight... infertile. I couldn’t remember how long they had been there, so I left them, but I’ll grab them tomorrow. It’s long enough, they are definitely clear.
But Bonnie’s single egg looks great! I apparently missed it for more days than I thought. It’s about halfway along!
:( sorry about Bugsys..:hugs
Congrats on Bonnies tho! :love

Small update on my birds:
I've returned and everything seems well. From the mess in the loft it seems whatever the adults have is continuing to come and go as there is a fairly even mixture of normal poo and greenish mess. My 4 in 1 should be in soon so hopefully that takes care of things.
Both squabs are doing quite well and are around the 30 day mark.
:love:love
Awful news guys... So, I have 5 racing homers, I had three males, but then I purchased a mated pair. So then I had 4males one female. Well, the 'pair' isn't a 'pair'. I now have FIVE males and ZERO females.:barnie
NOoooo! Dang it.. I hate that for you! :hugs
I hope you can get it worked out to get some females...:fl

Alright pigeon friends, I am about to start the loft, FINALLY. So, what is the minimum size you all would go? It's going to have to be something divided, and I hope to put an aviary attached, so with that in mind, how much aviary space and how much indoor space would you all recommend? Let's say I want to keep five pairs of each breed.

I personally LOVE walk in lofts with some space. So I would do 6 by 8 minimum. And then the more aviary space the better. Maybe 4 ft out and then 8 ft long going on the wall of the loft.

So here's the issue, this loft is going into my backyard in town, and I don't want to have to try to get a permit for it. So it can't be that big. It has to kind of fly under the radar.
