James Turner, a famous roller pigeon fancier, had his lofts burned to the ground. If I remember correctly, it was on purpose. All mine are at my house. I have three chicken coops and a large run, the pigeon loft and I can't remember how many rabbits! All we need is the horse to come back and a couple of goats and we'll have a bona fide farm! In town! The one thing that would worry me most about not having mine close is them getting stolen. Some pigeon keepers have had some expensive birds stolen.
Thats awful. There are some very twisted people out there. I hope they caught the people that did it.James Turner, a famous roller pigeon fancier, had his lofts burned to the ground. If I remember correctly, it was on purpose.
Sounds great! Are you making it high enough to walk in? And use plywood not OSB Wood. It doesn't weather well and is a pain to clean. I used some for one of my nest boxes and I hate it. I'll replace it when I get time.Okay, I have the loft planned out now. It's gonna be 4 by 8, divided into two 4 by 4 sections. I will also do a small aviary off the front (and it is going to have to be small, so probably only like 2 feet wide). Now to go start buying wood.
